The vibrant red star Antares (which means "rival of Mars") is the 15th brightest star in the sky. It is more than 1,000 light years away (more than 5,874,601,673,407,301 miles away) in the constellation Scorpius, near the Dark River. This time of year (Fall) it should be to the SE, about halfway up in the sky.
 
The universe is so vast it is unfathomable, and incomprehensible to the human mind.

Yeah, makes you reevaluate the subjective use of the word "big".
 
Now think, Antares is in our "Local Neighborhood", only 1/5 of the way out to the edge, which then resides about half way out in the Milky Way, then which is inside the Local Group, which in turn lies within the Universe of Galaxies.
 
...but if you really want to boggle the noggin, there is abstract cosmological theory that there are 11 possible dimensions (not just 4) to the universe (11 verses).

As I posted them exactly 2 years and 2 months ago... I have no idea at this point where I got them from, with the exception that I know that it was not from either of the 2 links above. (Inside the first link they are actually using 2 images from this post.)
 
I do know that I added about half the wording and all the arrows to the images, and of course all the following information.
