Why can't you replace it in your parking space... does the grease freeze up before you can press the bearing in?

I am a new grandma again. Ariel Ann was born at 10:06am today! She weighed a hefty 6# 12oz. I have the flu or something so I can't go see the baby until I am well, I have been sick since last Thurs. ewwww I feel like I have been hit by a Mack Truck. How I got the flu I have no idea, I rarely go out in public. l8r gators |

NYK -
Per your concerns, I changed your tag line to reflect a broader truth. Change or don't change it at your leisure.
The origins of the statement are too sketchy, but clearly, unless otherwise specifically denied point-blank by Norman himself, it is the type of statement he would make. To my knowledge no one else has ever stepped forth to claim it, hence the re-write wording in your tag line.

Well, here I am, back and writing a real post.
Now you know that during my vacation, I did the following. 1-Replacing the Toyota Echo suspention on 4 corners, I did drop the car 1.6 inches, which will piss my GF off when I'll tell her to be extra carefull when she opens her door because the tip of her door could rub against the sidewalk. Extra points of -WHAT THE F?- are gained because I will have to re-install the old suspention setup on the car for the next Winter (or I won't be able to get out of the parking lot because the car is too low). 2-Replacing the front brakes on the Toyota Echo. Easy to do, 8 bolts to remove on each side and there you go. 3-Help a friend to change his brakes on a 1974 CJ JEEP. I HATE RUST. The Jeep has 4 drums (one on each wheel, talk about a poor design) but it's now done and he's happy. What's next? |

NYK
I was in the hospital from Jan. 6 - 10th. Had to quit smoking, drinking and no caffine, what a blow to my system. Diagnosis: Coranary Artery Spasams, hurt like hell. Have high blood pressure but I already knew that. I was about to take a stress test, they were doing that sonogram on my heart and then I had a 'spell' called dr. in he called another dr. in and they got the guy who cut me, and went straight to surgery, never got on the treadmill. They ran that scope and dye up my artery in my groin checked out my heart and saw the spasam. Heart is in great shape otherwise, no blockages or anything like that. Spasams are caused by nicotine, so they gave me a patch which I only wore for 2 days, if nicotine causes it why wear the patch? eh. I was a smoker from the age of 18 - 52 and now I quit - cold turkey, the caffine causes it too. I had a horrible headache on Sat. wanted to croak. All the with drawl from the chemicals I normally ingested. I will be OK. Cool then. and NYK,.. |

nyk...I respect your opinions Rich, so what is the deal about my diagnosis?
I did have another 'episode' Feb 9-11 in the hospital. They changed my RX, was amlodipine (sp check) now is nephedrine, no major issues with this one. I do carry nitro in my pocket now and only had to take it twice since then as a matter of fact it was 2 days ago. Moved back to KC like March 19th or so. Son is re-deploying end of this yr. again 3rd time in Iraq. CRAP!!! I was in TX from Jun 09 to March this yr. Lookin for a job, think I have a job as a bartender this will just be a transition job until I can get my admin going again, I am so happy to see you here again Rich. Hope you are well by now. Dude you were sick like forever!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

NYK - I am not a medical doctor, I do not play one on TV, and I am not giving medical advice.
Well I think the root of your actual problem would be the high blood pressure:
blood pressure is commonly denoted by pressurizing the arm at 210mm HG, cutting off the flow of blood. The cuff has to be aligned at the same height as the heart and you need to be at rest with no anxiety. The pressurized cuff is then bled down at a rate of 2-3mmHG per second, and when the first surge of blood is heard (via a stethoscope or built-in microphone) the pressure reading from the cuff will reveal the systolic reading. When the cuff deflates to the point that pulsing of the blood stops making noise, the pressure reading from the cuff will indicate the diastolic pressure. No single blood pressure test will be entirely accurate; a series over time needs to be gathered.
Systolic pressure is the pressure rate indicated in mm of mercury (Hg) of the circulatory system at the point where the heart is pumping at its maximum pressure. It is commonly known as the ‘top number’ (aortic outflow). Low systolic: 80 to 89 (89 and below is hypotension) Athletic systolic: 90 to 99 Normal systolic: 100 to 119 (115 would be ideal) Pre-high systolic: 120 to 139 Stage 1 Mild-high systolic: 140 to 159 (140 and above is hypertension) Stage 2 Moderate-high systolic: 160 to 179 Stage 3 Severe-high systolic: 180 to 209 Stage 4 Very severe-high systolic: 210 to 239 Diastolic pressure is the pressure rate indicated in mm of mercury (Hg) of the circulatory system at the point where the heart is pumping in a state of rest. It is commonly known as the ‘bottom number’. Low diastolic: 50 to 59 (59 and below is hypotension) Athletic diastolic: 60 to 69 Normal diastolic: 70 to 79 (75 would be ideal) Pre-high diastolic: 80 to 89 Stage 1 Mild-high diastolic: 90 to 99 (90 and above is hypertension) Stage 2 Moderate-high diastolic: 100 to 109 Stage 3 Severe-high diastolic: 110 to 119 Stage 4 Very severe-high diastolic: 120 to 129 You are probably being yanked back and forth between moderate and high pressures, and as a result your circulatory system spasms in revolt because you're no spring chicken anymore.
So what is likely causing this? Well nicotine restricts, and caffine restricts. Do you smoke like a chimney? Do you drink coffee by the half pot? And do both especially in the morning? Do you have more than your fair share of anxiety? (son always at war, you moving around, dad issue, husband issue, looking for a job, country going to hell in a handbasket, etc) If so, you're probably constricting your vascular system big time and when the effects wear off, bam, the vessels dilate. Probably just like the doctors said.
Go to bed at a decent hour. Brush your hair slowly but thoroughly to the scalp with a nice brush for 5 minutes before going to sleep. Sleep in the nude if you can. Sleep for 8 hours. When you wake up, take a nice long shower before you do anything else. Let the shower revitalize you to full awakening. Get yourself a nice, new, big, soft towel to dry off with. Puff yourself with some baby powder. Have a glass of orange juice instead of coffee. Listen to relaxing Japanese music. Eat smaller meals, but more of them. Drink plenty of water. Wear ultra-comfortable walking shoes with additional comfort inserts. Use those shoes to walk a bit more than you usually do. Maybe buy some worry/prayer beads for your fingers to play with (instead of a cigarette). These things combined should relax you. If you still feel like a locomotive out of steam, perhaps try some B-12.
You are right, the 'patch' is a epidermal nicotine delivery system, and the only thing that is being altered to any degree is your lungs get a break (a good thing). Of course the idea behind it is to break the oral habit of putting a cigarette to your mouth first; similar to a heroin addict who switches off from the needle to a gulp of methadon. Nicotine turns the brain on; heroin shuts the brain down. Both are addictive, and the brain screams when denied. That's why it is most efficient to slowly wean off addictive chemicals. (Or you could just go into a coma for a month and wake-up relaxed and dependence free.
The Amlodipine was to relax your circulatory system (apparently too much or it didn't sit well with you), and the Nephedrine is to relax you (similar to Valium in effect). The 2 are very different medications, and apparently the anxiety is what they are going after now. The nitro would be used if you got into such distress that your vacular system goes into spasm again.
Work on calming yourself down. If and when you get a handle on that, you should be able to slowly forgo the medication.
...But this is just little old me talking to no one in particular.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as MY health goes - I'm getting closer to 'normalized' (I'm able to ambulate better now) but still need a little more time before going for that second operation to actually fix anything and close me up. When that finally happens, I'll probably be off the board for a while again (or forever).
...Meanwhile my beloved country is turning into CRAP!!! I need a smoke, some coffee, and my guns nearby.

Thank you for your input you know I respect what you say.
When are you getting your second surgery and I hope you don't leave the board forever that would suck. Yes our country is turning into crap, what sad times for every American citizen. Of course except those who voted in the mooslime (did I say that? hell yeah! Makes me sad.
I will take your advice you know I appreciate it. Take care of yourself and will 'see' you again soon! ta ta for now.... |
