No problem.

I should be strong enough to go back in very shortly.

You don't want a "auto manual", you want a "owner's manual".

Thanks again. I just needed to know like general stuff how much air for the tires, how much oil for an oil change, what the heck is my anti-theft device do and where is it (says I have one but what the heck?) where is the fuse box? Stuff like that.

Really?! I'd be interested to know where you found them (even if it's in a private E-mail). I've searched several times and never found squat.

Sorry, but good luck on that one. Most auto manuals (Haynes Automotive, etc) are still under copyright and the holders defend them with great zeal, which is why you don't see them showing up on-line. A few alternatives to your plight might be -

(1)  Check your local library. If they don't have it on the shelf sometimes a request (fill out card) will cause them to purchase it. [if you can wait]

(2)  You can go down to your local Chevy service center and if you can talk the talk, you might be able to get the parts tech to print out a few pages from their computer-based manuals based on what your problem is (being very nice has it's rewards). Obviously you will need a very good idea of what the problem is first as they will not print out the whole database nor give you access to it from home. You need to do your home work on this one as they do not have time to ponder your problem.

(3)  You can go on-line, and if you hunt around with the right key-words ('Ask a Mechanic Online', etc.) you can find a few internet-based master mechanics for your specific auto brand/problem. You have to articulate the problem at length and with great clarity to him, and they will have a structure of payment for the information you seek. The reasonable part is that if you find the information useless for you problem (as described by you), you don't pay.

(4)  You might try going to a large book store (Barnes & Noble, etc.) or a Auto parts store, and quickly thumb through the area of the book that concerns you. Unfortunately, half the time the books are sealed up in shrink wrap... if you open it, you buy it. ($20 - $30?)

I have been trying to find an auto manuel for my 1999 Chevy Malibu that I can either print or at least read online. I keep finding things that do not apply to my search. Anyone?
Thank you.
